Lighting Systems

The substrate and component to coincide are lit and can be dimmed separately to help find the best picture of the dual image overlay.

Standard Halogen Lighting

Standard Halogen Lighting

FINEPLACER® standard lighting (not for A6 and A7) consists of two halogen lamps (10W) for illuminating the substrate, and another two for illuminating the underside of the component (head).

Head and target lamps are arranged twofold symmetrically to avoid asymmetrical reflections from rows of shiny balls or pads.

LED Lighting

The new LED lighting 2x2 is recommended when working on large field or high magnification applications. The 2x2 LEDs ensure a consistent and nearly shadowless full area illumination of substrate and component. No matter what light intensity is chosen, the color temperature always remains stable.

Compared to standard halogen lighting, LED technology provides several benefits. High energy efficiency results in a significantly reduced heat dissipation. Furthermore, remarkably better luminance values and a ten times longer lifespan than standard halogen make LED lighting the best choice to meet your rework and micro assembly challenges.

Because of its positive characteristics a LED lighting is particularly suitable for use with a process camera. Therefore FINETECH offers an optional LED lighting equipment for the Inspection Video Module VARIO/ VARIOPlus and the side camera video module.
Fibre Optics Lighting

Fibre-optics illuminationZoom

Using camera systems with very high magnification, or handling complicated chips or substrates may demand very bright light that the standard lighting cannot provide. Using fibre optics, the light of more than a 100 W halogen lamp is given without heating up the chips in an uncontrolled way.

If fibre optic lighting is required, the FINEPLACER® will be equipped with fibre optic conductors instead of standard halogen lamps; 2 arms directed to the substrate and 2 arms to the component.

Achieving visible representation of normally hardly perceptible Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) structures on glass (e.g. LCD Displays), or of very small components, this special illumi-nating device feeds the light directly into the optical axis of the system.
